Year 4 pupils have been preparing to move on to their new school. They have spent a few days at Ford castle making new friends from the other schools that feed into Allendale Middle  School. In addition they spent 'transfer day' at Allendale Middle School where they met their new teachers.
Filmmaking fun! Over the spring term, we have been working with a local filmmaker, Christo Wallers, through Creative Partnerships. The pupils and the teachers have been learning how to use the two flipcams owned by the school, and how to edit films on them. We will hope to upload plenty of the films we have made using them, but for now, here is our spring term film 'Around the World'.
Every year we celebrate UNICEF Day for Change, where the children come dressed in the clothes of a specific country. This year, we decided to use this opportunity to make a film about people from different cultures and the importance of the UNICEF Day for Change. Class 2 came up with the idea of a roving intergalactic news team who stumble on Earth and find out about all the different countries.
Everyone in the school was involved in either writing the script, acting, researching, making animations, filming and doing all the hidden bits that happen on a film set which you only know about if you watch the credits!
